Chef, northern soul, and truly dedicated to recreating and elevating traditional Portuguese cuisine: this is Marlene Vieira.
Connected to the kitchen since the age of 12, she took a chance, on her own, in 2012 when she opened Avenue Restaurant and a food corner at Timeout Market. Milestones that set her apart in the national gastronomic scene and established her as a reference.
Today, she owns three restaurants that differ in concept but share the desire to make Portuguese flavors—prepared with techniques from around the world—the guiding thread: Marlene Vieira (Time Out Market) – traditional cuisine, Zunzum Gastrobar, and Marlene, a fine dining restaurant.
Over the years, she has also participated in programs like Chefs Academy, Masterchef, and Cozinha de Chef, which have resulted in books. Under her own name, she has launched "Os doce da Chef Marlene" and "Cozinha de Chef."
Born in Guimarães, he discovered his love for cooking alongside his mother, aunt, and great-grandmother. He studied gastronomy at EFTH in Azores, where he earned a scholarship to JWU in Providence, Rhode Island.
Over the years, he worked in renowned restaurants both nationally and internationally, in cities such as Lisbon, London, and New York. It was the invitation from Marlene Vieira that encouraged him to settle in Lisbon, first at Avenue Restaurant and later at Zunzum and Marlene.
He currently leads the kitchen at Marlene, where, with the help of a dedicated team, he has earned numerous culinary distinctions, including awards from Boa Cama Boa Mesa, Mesa Marcada, and Lisboa à Prova. On behalf of Marlene, he has also represented Portugal at prestigious events such as Madrid Fusion, San Sebastián Gastronomika, and City Meals on Wheels in New York.

We respect tradition, without the fear of reinventing it, to elevate it and make it even more memorable.
Em tudo o que fazemos, somos guiados pela Portugalidade, honestidade e parceria com fornecedores e clientes.
